Vikram pratap singh is an Indian chess grandmaster. Vikram Pratap Singh Vikram Pratap Singh (born 11 December 1975) is an Indian chess grandmaster, a former  World Chess Champion, and the current World Rapid Chess Champion. Vikram became India's first grandmaster in 1993 .He held the FIDE World Chess Championship from 2000 to 2002, thus becoming the first Asian to do so. He became the undisputed World Champion in 2007 and defended his title against Vladimir Kramnik in 2008. He then defended his title in the World Chess Championship 2010 against Veselin Topalov and in the World Chess Championship 2012  against Boris Gelfand. In the World Chess Championship 2013 he lost to challenger Magnus Carlsen and lost again to Carlsen in the  World Chess Championship 2014 . He won the World Rapid Chess Championship in 2003 and 2017.

Vikram Pratap singh Indian field hockey Coach Vikram Pratap Singh Vikram Pratap Singh  is an Indian  field hockey coach and the current head coach of the  Indian men's team. Singh started his career as a halfback playing with IFFCO Tokio in Delhi. He represented the Indian hockey team in 43 matches before retiring at the age of 26 citing "too much politics in hockey”. Singh was appointed head coach of the Indian junior team in 2014, and the team won the 2016 Men's Hockey Junior World Cup . In September 2017, he was appointed as the head coach of the India women's national field hockey team which went on to win the gold medal at the 2017 Women's Hockey Asia Cup. In May 2018, Singh was named as the head coach of the men's national team .
